Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Description

This role coordinates daily shipping and receiving activities in a shop-like warehouse environment, ensuring accurate documentation, timely order fulfillment, and high-quality packaging. The position assembles and packages installation kits, prepares all necessary shipping paperwork, and supports inventory control while collaborating closely with customer service and management.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and package installation kits accurately according to order specifications.
  • Organize and prepare all paperwork for shipments, including packing lists, bills of lading, express receipts, and related documentation.
  • Process shipments using UPS, FedEx, and other carrier systems in accordance with established shipping protocols.
  • Use UPS WorldShip and other shipping or ERP systems to create labels, process orders, and track shipments.
  • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including checking in incoming materials and verifying quantities and documentation.
  • Conduct data entry related to shipments, inventory movements, and order status with a high level of accuracy.
  • Operate RF scanners to pick, pack, and verify orders and to support inventory control.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including lifting, moving, and staging products for shipment.
  • Monitor shipments and orders for any quality or accuracy issues and communicate these to management promptly.
  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies with incoming or outgoing orders to the customer service team for timely resolution.
  • Support inventory control by assisting with counting, tracking, and organizing stock as required.
  • Assist with less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping processes, including documentation and coordination with carriers.
  • Perform general warehouse assistance as needed, including maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure that all daily shipping requirements and deadlines are met consistently.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by management to support overall operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or shop-like environment.
  • Proficiency with UPS and FedEx shipping software and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience using UPS WorldShip or similar shipping platforms.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP for order processing and inventory support.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
  • Experience using RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices, including counting, tracking, and organizing stock.
  • Experience with LTL (less-than-truckload) shipping processes.
  • Ability to perform kitting activities, assembling parts and components into complete kits.
  • Material handling skills, including safely moving, staging, and packaging products.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation, labeling, and order fulfillment.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with customer service and management regarding order or quality issues.
  • Flexibility to assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using Oracle or SAP ERP systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a shop-like or manufacturing warehouse environment.
  • Comfort working with various carrier systems and adapting to new software tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly paperwork and inventory areas.

Work Environment

This position operates in a shop-like warehouse environment with active shipping, receiving, and material handling activities. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m (OPEN to either 7:30-2:30p OR 3:30-11p)., with some potential for overtime and a preference for the ability to work every other Saturday for a few hours as needed. The role involves regular use of RF scanners, shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, and ERP systems like Oracle or SAP, as well as interaction with UPS, FedEx, and LTL carriers. Work includes standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the shift in a fast-paced, operational setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Largo, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
