Diesel Mechanic Balkema Sitework & Development Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States About this position Balkema Sitework and Development is seeking an experienced Mechanic/Disel Mechanic Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools Conduct inspections and perform necessary repairs on brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components Complete tire services including rotations, replacements, and repairs Fabricate and weld parts as needed for repairs or modifications Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with diesel engines Proficiency in automotive repair and maintenance techniques Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Experience with tire service, including mounting, balancing, and repairing tires Forklift operation experience is a plus Ability to fabricate and weld parts as needed Familiarity with vehicle maintenance schedules and procedures Proficient in the use of power tools and other equipment necessary for repairs Knowledge of shocks, struts, and suspension systems is preferred We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic who is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, as well as experience with automotive diagnostics. Please note that this position may require occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs. Job Type: Full-time Schedule 8-10 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Saturdays as needed
