Information Technology Support Specialist

Location: On-site in Morrisville, NC

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week on-site

Contract: 12-month W2 contract

Pay Range: $32/hour - $37/hour

Tundra Technical is seeking an experienced Regional IT Support Specialist to support a large enterprise client in a highly hands-on, customer-facing IT environment.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong desktop and end-user support skills with exceptional customer service. You’ll provide in-person technical support across a mixed Windows and macOS environment , troubleshoot laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals, and support employees ranging from everyday users to senior executives.

We’re looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable, approachable and especially comfortable staying calm and solution-focused when supporting high-priority or time-sensitive issues.

What You’ll Do

• Provide hands-on desktop and end-user IT support in a fast-paced enterprise environment
• Troubleshoot and support Windows and macOS systems in a mixed-device environment
• Support iOS and Android mobile devices
• Deliver high-touch technical support to executives and other VIP users with professionalism and discretion
• Diagnose hardware, software, application and peripheral issues
• Image/reimage computers and complete user data migrations
• Configure and deploy new laptops, desktops, monitors and other end-user equipment
• Install and troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices
• Assist with conference room and audio/visual technologies
• Provide remote technical support when needed
• Support hardware and software deployments and technology refresh initiatives
• Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records for new and existing equipment
• Assist infrastructure teams with local cabling, equipment installation and other hands-on support needs
• Document incidents, requests and resolutions within an IT ticketing system
• Lead or assist with smaller IT projects and communicate status to appropriate stakeholders
• Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to junior team members

What We’re Looking For

• Strong professional experience in desktop support, deskside support, IT support or end-user computing
• Hands-on experience supporting both Windows and macOS
• Experience troubleshooting laptops, desktops, mobile devices and common peripherals
• Strong customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical users
• Experience supporting executive/VIP users strongly preferred
• Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during urgent or high-pressure support situations
• Experience using enterprise IT ticketing systems
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to independently prioritize multiple support requests and responsibilities
• Experience with IT asset management, inventory tracking or hardware lifecycle processes preferred
• Familiarity with conference room A/V technologies and basic network/telecom infrastructure support is a plus
• Experience participating in hardware/software rollouts or technology refresh projects preferred

Additional Requirements

• This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday ;
  consistent and reliableon-site attendance is required
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute consistently to the worksite
• Ability to move, install and set up computer equipment throughout the worksite
• Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to approximately 40 lbs.
• Occasional use of equipment such as carts or pallet jacks may be required for hardware movement
• Occasional domestic travel may be available or requested based on business needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required;
  associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline preferred
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Apple support certifications, ITIL or similar industry certifications are a plus

Contract Details

This is a 12-month W2 contract opportunity through Tundra Technical supporting one of our enterprise clients. Candidates should be comfortable committing to the full contract term. While longer-term opportunities may arise based on future business needs and performance, extension or conversion is not guaranteed.

Pay Range: $32 - $37/hour W2, depending on experience and qualifications.
