Job Summary and Responsibilities Responsible for clinical management of patients. Functions as a registered nurse by role and models professional behavior. Ensures satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians, and staff). Participates and understands Quality Management activities. Demonstrates effective communication skills. Demonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Promotes cost‑effective unit operations. Documents nursing care utilizing appropriate tools. Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is responsible for professional growth and development. Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards. Operates diagnostic imaging system. Restocks and cleans work area. Provides leadership in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health‑related projects; evaluates, directs, and guides proper selection, use, care and control of material resources; appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and collaborates with departments to assist with vendor selection and feedback on performance. Guides the professional growth of others across the continuum of care through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring; may include designing orientation modules, primary precepting of senior nursing students; provides leadership at departmental, entity, community or regional/national level for initiatives focused on improving quality of care for populations of patients and growth of others. Participates in unit on‑call schedule. Leads role in monitoring Pharmacy Accudose Narcotic Inventory counts in all procedure rooms. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license. Advanced Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
