Job Description

We are looking for a talented MEP Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform mechanical engineering design and layout of systems for various projects, including commercial, industrial, correctional, and municipal endeavors. You will assist in developing cost estimates, prepare design computations, and provide technical support to our staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering design and layout for commercial, industrial, correctional, and municipal projects.
• Assist in the development of probable construction cost estimates.
• Prepare design computations including heating and cooling loads, ventilation, and more.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and permits.
• Provide technical support to other staff members.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and project managers to meet project deadlines.
• Draft construction drawings regularly.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to questions from contractors.
• Perform site visits as needed.
• Understand engineering and construction terminology and concepts.
• Handle job-specific quality system tasks as outlined in the Project Management Manual.
• Conduct walkthroughs and document conditions in existing buildings for renovation designs or building assessment reports.
• Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and respond to contractor questions during construction.
• Conduct quality control reviews of peer designs.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
