Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital in Washington, DC, requiring prior travel experience and a broad range of surgical skills.

Details

• Operating Room at a 228-bed Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital
• 9-room OR with a diverse surgical caseload spanning neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call required: 2 night calls and 3 weekend calls per month; weeknight call is 11 PM–7 AM, weekend call shifts are 7 AM–3 PM, 3–11 PM, or 11 PM–7 AM
• Charting system: SIS
• Block scheduling not available
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active RN license in the District of Columbia required
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR and CST preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience required in the majority of the following surgical specialties: neurology (including craniotomy, spinal fusions, laminectomy/discectomy), general surgery (including Whipple, cholecystectomy, colon resection, thyroidectomy), orthopedics (including total joint replacement, arthroscopy), ophthalmology (including cataract extraction, glaucoma surgery), and robotic-assisted procedures across multiple surgical disciplines
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN, DOB, and valid driver's license required for consideration

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is the responsibility of the traveler; options include metered street parking, daily/weekly/monthly hospital parking passes, and access via Metro (Shaw/Howard University stop on the Green and Yellow lines) and multiple bus routes
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year to be eligible
• RTO requests must be disclosed at time of consideration
