Summary of Work This position is in Bismarck, North Dakota. All normal work hours will be conducted in person, in an office setting. No remote work or hybrid work is available. This position applies project management principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices to lead and manage all phases of information technology projects. The role is responsible for overseeing large, complex portfolios, programs, and projects for the Office of Attorney General using established tools, guidelines, and industry best practices. Key duties include planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting, as well as coordinating people, processes, and technologies to deliver projects on time and within budget. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring team members involved in project management. Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, vendors, and stakeholders are essential for project success. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and guidance to project team(s) Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate project meetings (status update, planning, brainstorming, requirements gathering) Develop, update, and publish project plans (communication plan, quality management plan, governance plan) Develop, maintain, and publish project schedules (primarily using MS Project) Maintain and utilize collaboration tools (SharePoint, MS Teams) Support project teams and stakeholders to develop project goals, objectives, key milestones, and requirements of technical solutions Collaborate with project team members to develop cost and time estimates Assist with managing project procurements activities Participate in contract negotiations Identify, secure, and manage project resources Mentor team members Identify and resolve project conflicts Perform comprehensive project risk analysis Identify and manage project issues Ensure proper creation, maintenance, and utilization of project documentation Ensure project deliverables are defined, documented, and delivered Monitor project timelines, budget, and critical deadlines Provide timely and clear project status updates to stakeholders and direct supervisors Coordinate and align the efforts of internal project teams and external vendors Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree majoring in computer science, computer or management information systems, project management, business administration, or a closely related field. Additional work experience may substitute for up to two years of the education requirement on a year‑for‑year basis. Three years of current and progressive related work experience involving business process analysis, project plan development, group facilitation, and management of staff/resources; or a bachelor's degree with a major in another field and three years of related work experience.
