Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse provides surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgery. This role involves creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, offering pre-and post-operative patient education, and monitoring the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety throughout surgical procedures.
• Provide pre-and post-operative education to patients and their families.
• Monitor patients’ physical and emotional states during the surgical process.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless integration of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of current Operating Room experience.
• Strong float experience to vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic surgery, urology, and ENT.
• Travel experience is required.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Scrub and circulate experience is required.
• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required.
