SANITATION OPERATOR I

THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATING AN AUTOMATED GARBAGE TRUCK ON ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY. GENERAL DUTIES:
SAFETY/SECURITY SENSITIVE DESIGNATION - THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS A SAFETY/SECURITY POSITION FOR PURPOSES OF THE ARKANSAS MEDICAL MARIJUANA AMENDMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENINGS. - OPERATE GARBAGE, DUMP AND RECYCLING TRUCKS ON ASSIGNED ROUTES.
- INSPECT AND CHECK VEHICLES BEFORE USE IN ORDER TO ENSURE SAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS.
- PERFORM EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE TASKS.
- MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT IIN PROPER OPERATING CONDITION BY PERFORMING SIMPLE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE TASKS AND DETECT NEEDED AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS.
- WORK OVERTIME AND IN EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS.
