Setting : Outpatient

Reports To: Program Director or Designee

Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) to provide creative arts therapy services for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The LCAT will utilize evidence-based and best-practice therapeutic approaches to promote emotional expression, recovery, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group creative arts therapy sessions to promote emotional expression, self-awareness, coping skills, and personal growth.
  • Maintain an assigned caseload and deliver therapeutic services aligned with individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, including risk and safety evaluations, and participate in treatment and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team members to monitor client progress and coordinate care.
  • Develop and implement engaging creative arts therapy programs addressing psychological, cognitive, social, and emotional needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and modify therapeutic approaches to achieve treatment goals.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy or a related field.
  • Active New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) license.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

  • Excellent documentation and organizational abilities
  • Client-centered and recovery-oriented approach
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and basic computer applications
