Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - On Call

This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in meeting the mission of administering the nation’s lawful immigration system. As a Biometric Technician (BT), you will support USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) operations in Kansas City, MO. Amentum provides required job training for qualified candidates. This is a casual, on‑call position available Monday‑Friday 7:45am to 4:15pm. Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all entrants to the ASC are approved applicants or visitors and enforce ASC rules and policies. Provide front‑line customer service as representatives of Amentum on behalf of the United States Government. Safeguard areas vulnerable to Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as applicant paperwork, electronic biometric data, and reports. Perform quality biometrics processing (captures electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures) within established processing times. Screen applicants for valid appointment notice and identification before entry. Use crowd‑control barriers to ensure safe and organized entry. Visually inspect applicants and belongings before allowing entry. Conduct periodic facility checks (interior & exterior) and report concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist the Site Supervisor or Immigration Service Officer to contact law enforcement or first responders as required. Maintain accurate administrative paperwork (tracking processing time, reconciliation paperwork, visitor logs) and sign off on facility checks. Qualifications Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship required. A High School Diploma or equivalent. Must speak and write in English. Ability to stand upright on one’s feet for the scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks. Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hand to obtain quality fingerprints. Ability to work in a high‑paced environment with the public. Basic computer and typing skills. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. Compensation $18.81 per hour. Salary may vary based on experience, education, skills, and other factors.
