Maryland State Inspector Automotive Technician

Job Description

Job Description

MARYLAND STATE INSPECTOR AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN LOCATION: Rockville, MD

Tired of getting burned? Read this.

You got into this trade because you love working on cars. Somewhere along the way, somebody decided you should also be a photographer, a video narrator, a warranty clerk and a lot porter. Your warranty times got cut again. The guy who's buddies with the foreman gets the gravy, and you get the 0.3 jobs.

That's why good techs are leaving the industry. We get it, because we're techs too. Our owner turned wrenches before he ever ran a shop.

Nealey Tire & Auto is a fast-scaling, performance-driven group with five thriving shops in Maryland and more on the way. We're not just fixing cars. We're building the shop techs actually want to work for.

Here's what's different at Nealey Tire & Auto

• You just work on cars. No digital inspections. No photos, no videos, no narrating. Our GSTs and Service Advisors handle the digital vehicle inspections and the write-ups.
• Unlimited hours. Our advisors actually care about the customer's safety, and they know how to sell the work your diagnosis finds. Cars come in, the work gets sold, you turn hours.
• No dealership warranty work. No fighting factory warranty pay times. You get paid for the job.
• No pulling the same car in and out five times. Our process keeps the car in your bay until it's done.
• No favoritism. Work gets dispatched fair. Period.
• Build real money. Top techs here aren't just making a living. They're building generational wealth for their families.

Pay: $45–$65 per flagged hour, based on experience and ASE certifications.

What we need from you

• An active Maryland State Inspector license
• 5+ years turning wrenches, with your own tools
• You test before you replace. You're not a parts changer.
• A valid driver's license

Nice to have: ASE A1–A8 or L1, scope work, programming.

Benefits

• Generous paid time off
• Health insurance (we pay up to 50%), plus dental and vision
• Life insurance and short-term disability
• 401(k) with a 4% match
• Paid ASE training and certification tests
