Senior Director, Applied AI Solutions- Clinical Drug Development

Senior Director leading Gilead's applied AI function within the Clinical Data Science organization. Responsible for translating prioritized AI use cases into production-grade capabilities that support drug development workflows, from discovery through validation and enterprise adoption.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-year applied AI engineering roadmap aligned with Clinical Data Science and Development priorities
• Own design, build, evaluation, and technical validation of AI services from conception through production release
• Establish reference solutions and workflows for model deployment, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic systems
• Lead multidisciplinary teams building AI systems for internal users across clinical and development functions
• Partner with Enterprise IT, Information Security, and business stakeholders to ensure scalability and governance

Requirements

• Proven experience leading applied AI or machine learning engineering teams
• Deep technical expertise in AI/ML systems, solution architecture, and production deployment
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise AI solutions at scale
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across business, IT, and technical teams
• Knowledge of clinical data science, drug development, or regulated industry environments
• Experience with agentic systems, RAG, and modern AI application patterns
