The company offers full-service liquid-solid separation and dry/air filtration products worldwide.Elwood Staffing associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including:Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plansHoliday PayTeladoc (online care)Referral Bonus IncentiveWeekly Pay401kAnd More!Sewing Machine Operator Details:Temp-to-Hire position$ 16.00 / hourFull Time work availableWeekend work requiredSecond Shift (Monday through Friday from 03:45pm to 12:15am)Under the general direction of the Expansion Value Stream Manager, the Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating industrial sewing equipment and ensuring finished products meet customer specifications and work order requirements.The operator is responsible for producing quality products, identifying defects, performing minor machine maintenance, and following all production and safety standards.Start and test sewing machinery at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper operation.Gather and verify all required materials and components before beginning production.Draw threads through needles and adjust machine settings as needed.Position materials correctly and sew components together according to specifications.Replace and rethread needles as necessary.Sew complete bags according to customer specifications and work orders.Repair missing stitches and attach replacement parts according to repair instructions.Attach components and parts as specified on work orders.Monitor sewing operations and inspect products for defects or discrepancies.Frequent use of industrial sewing machines, scissors, cutters, and measuring toolsStanding for extended periods of 8-10 hoursRepetitive hand and arm movementsAbility to accurately read a tape measure preferredBasic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.
