When you catch a student's miscue during a session, you identify the phonemic gap and have the next day's workshop revised before the end of the day. That is the expectation. You will field specific questions about individual student advancement, and "they're doing fine" will not suffice. You will need to reference the running record, identify the phonemic gap, and describe your intervention. That level of accountability should energize you, not burden you. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective; student satisfaction and "love your Guide" survey scores (target 90%+) measure this directly. What You Will Be Doing Creating small-group K-3 reading workshops using live adaptive-app data, anchored in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent) Leading daily motivation sessions that drive 100% of your students to meet their weekly app goals through Alpha's motivational model (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification) Analyzing AI-generated performance data (fluency curves, decoding accuracy, comprehension signals) to modify instruction mid-day, not only during planning time Conducting running records, fluency probes, and decoding assessments to generate gains that appear in the weekly campus data review Serving as the energetic, relatable adult that your K-3 students are excited to see each day What You Won’t Be Doing Implementing a published reading curriculum, scripted program, or district pacing guide; you create lessons based on student data Delivering lectures to a full classroom; all instruction occurs in small, targeted groups and students complete academic subjects through adaptive apps Serving as a reading consultant, teacher coach, or district-level specialist; you are in the classroom with students daily Managing a traditional classroom schedule: subject-by-subject lectures, homework review, test preparation. Your scheduled blocks consist of workshops, motivation sessions, and data-driven small groups Drafting IEPs, 504 plans, or formal diagnostic reports; student progress is tracked through app data and your running records, not special-education documentation Reading Program Coordinator Key Responsibilities Generate measurable K-3 reading growth across phonics, fluency, and comprehension within a campus community where outcomes are reviewed weekly.
