Our client is a well-established consulting engineering firm providing multidisciplinary engineering services across the public and private sectors. With a diverse project portfolio spanning building systems, municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater facilities, and industrial applications, they have built a strong reputation for technical excellence and long-term client relationships.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their leadership team and help drive the delivery of complex engineering projects throughout the region.

Your New Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader within the electrical engineering group, taking ownership of project delivery while mentoring junior engineers and supporting client development efforts.

Projects will include a mix of commercial, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure work, with responsibilities ranging from concept design through construction administration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the design of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, control, and related building systems.
\n
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
\n
• Perform electrical studies including load calculations, fault current analysis, arc flash studies, and system evaluations.
\n
• Review and seal engineering documents as required.
\n
• Coordinate closely with mechanical, civil, structural, and process engineering teams.
\n
• Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field observations.
\n
• Participate in proposal development, budgeting, and client meetings.
\n
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
\n

What You'll Need to Succeed

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
\n
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
\n
• 7+ years of electrical engineering consulting experience.
\n
• Strong experience designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
\n
• Experience with power distribution systems, generators, ATS equipment, switchgear, transformers, and fire alarm systems.
\n
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and applicable building codes.
\n
• Experience reviewing engineering deliverables and mentoring junior staff.
\n
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
\n

Preferred:

\n
• Industrial or Water/wastewater project experience.
\n
• SCADA, PLC, controls, or instrumentation experience.
\n
• Electrical modeling software such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
\n
• Experience with industrial process facilities.
\n
