Emergency Medicine Physician

Vivo HealthStaff Inc. is recruiting an EMS Medical Director for a hybrid position in Oakland, California.
Duties
- Serve as Physician Sponsor for the department's EMS license
- Ensure compliance with California EMS Rules
- Approve protocols, standing orders, and medications
- Review patient care records, reports, and response data
- Conduct case reviews and recommend improvements
- Help the EMS Assistant Chief build and evaluate a continuous quality improvement program
- Approve and help develop initial and continuing EMS education
- Oversee clinical competencies and skills verification
- Take part in training as needed and act as subject matter expert during drills and simulations
- Advise EMS-related and interagency programs as needed
- Attend monthly meetings with the Fire Chief and staff
- Provide medical direction for the SWAT Medic Program
Minimum qualifications
- MD or DO licensed in California
- Background in emergency medicine/EMS or internal medicine with appropriate experience
- At least 3 years in EMS medical direction or emergency medicine (equivalent experience may be accepted)
- Current DEA registration and ACLS certification
- Familiarity with California EMS protocols and regulations
- Able to pass required clearances and background checks
