Pay Range Salary: $47.69 - $67.19 per hour. Sign‑on bonus up to $25,000 and relocation assistance up to $10,000 for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Provide general physical therapy evaluations and treatments to patients of all ages, addressing a wide range of diagnoses and functional deficits. Develop, implement, and adjust therapy plans based on patient response and clinical assessment. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care professionals to coordinate care and ensure appropriate medical equipment is arranged before discharge. Document encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognoses in compliance with SEARHC policies and regulatory requirements. Work with both inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings. Supervise and direct the work of physical therapist assistants, support staff, students, or interns. Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and self‑care techniques, ensuring clear understanding through feedback and demonstration. Assist senior staff with administrative tasks, clinic operations, scheduling, and acquisition of durable medical equipment. Maintain cleanliness of clinical space and adequacy of supplies and equipment. Communicate findings, statistics, and metrics to management via email or other digital platforms. Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in‑services to staff and patient populations as required. Adhere to the regulatory and practice standards of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and SEARHC confidentiality and quality assurance standards. Perform any other duties assigned by the department. Education, Certifications, and Licenses Licensed Physical Therapist (state license required). Entry‑level master’s or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, or bachelor’s degree with two years of proven work and continuing education experience. Current Basic Life Support certification. Valid driver’s license. Clinical competency within three months of hire and every three years thereafter. High‑risk competency within three months of hire and every three years thereafter. Experience and Knowledge Broad‑based clinical experience in multiple settings (preferred). Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiology, gait analysis, strength training, biomechanics, and cognitive aspects relevant to therapy. Understanding of neuro‑related impairments and appropriate treatment strategies. Familiarity with medical conditions beyond musculoskeletal issues and the ability to refer appropriately. Knowledge of regulations, billing mechanisms, and reimbursement for PT services. Skills Proficiency in fitting and training patients with adaptive devices (splints, braces, orthoses, seating equipment, durable medical equipment, ADL assistive devices). Excellent written and oral communication skills for documentation, staff education, and patient/family interactions. Competence in public speaking and networking with providers and community members. Proficiency with computers and common software applications, including laptops, tablets, and imaging devices. Ability to translate complex PT concepts into simple, understandable language for patients and families. Physical capability to deliver treatment techniques and assist patient mobility safely. Sound judgment in patient care, workplace safety, and employee relations. Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association. Driver’s license – State of Alaska. Physical Therapist license – State of Alaska (Alaska State Board of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy).
