Job SummaryUnder general direction, the Truck & Trailer Driver delivers fuel to regional/local end users such as gas stations and cardlock stations. The position drives a truck with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or heavier and requires a commercial driver’s license. The Truck & Trailer Driver is required to load/unload the truck.TasksFollow Code of Safe Practices.Follow appropriate safety and unloading/loading procedures for transporting/delivering hazardous materials.Drive trucks with capacities greater than three (3) tons to transport and deliver petroleum products.Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal requirements.Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from flagger (when possible) and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with the plant, supervisors, or other drivers.Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services, when required.Acquire and retain loading card at designated petroleum loading facilities and follow all safety & loading procedures.Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspection of vehicle daily.Use ELD in compliance with State DOT HOS regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.SkillsReading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Monitoring: Monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Operations Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.Operation and Control: Controlling operations of equipment or systems.Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Time Management: Managing one’s own time and the time of others.AttributesProblem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
