Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist

Receives work orders for approval via AMES/MERS from the various services throughout the hospital.

Reviews the work orders for accuracy and completeness prior to approval/disapproval.

Visits the work site, when necessary, to obtain complete information about work performed for customers (i.e., scope of work, amount and type of material required, engineering shops to assign, etc.)

Forwards all work order requests that need to be reviewed (i.e., construction, installation, cost estimates and feasibility) prior to approval or be approved by other sections in Engineering, such as Chief, Assist Chief, Chief M&O, or shop foremen, and other services such as Safety and/or Police.

Develops, manages, and supervises the Work Order Inspection Program. The results are presented at the monthly Maintenance Meeting.

Conducts statistical analysis on data pertaining to work orders, preventative maintenance, man-hour accountability and productivity programs.

Serves as backup to the Administrative Officer (AO) for the Engineering Service in the absence of the AO.

Enters/receives reviews and processes all key requests to ensure building security.

Retrieves reports and numerical data for use in preparing reports, gathers data for briefings, meetings and presentations, and trains staff on established procedures and processes used by Engineering.

Serves as the designated customer service liaison representative between FMS and all Jesse Brown VA Medical Center services, clinical staff, and the Executive Office.

Develops, administers, and maintains the Engineering Customer Service Program.

Observes worker performance and periodically evaluates employee performance; identifies training needs, assures that training is given, evaluates training and stimulates self improvement.

Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
