Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Peru, Illinois

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Peru, Illinois. Join an acute care surgical services team and provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of procedures in a collaborative operating room environment serving the Illinois River community.

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Peru, Illinois
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing assignment
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 25, 2027
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, generally 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a varied day off every other week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, excluding non-billable orientation hours
• Call: Weeknight, weekend, and holiday call rotation; approximately once every six weeks with a 45-minute response time
• Orientation: On-site orientation on the morning of the first shift
• Charting: Epic OpTime
• Floating: May occasionally be required to support the Ottawa location

Operating Room Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois, or confirmation that the licensure application process has been initiated
• At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing experience
• Experience in an acute care surgical services or perioperative environment
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Operating room orthopedic experience preferred
• Scrubbing experience preferred; candidates with strong circulating nurse experience are encouraged to apply
• PALS certification is a plus but not required
• Ability to participate in the required call rotation and respond within 45 minutes

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Circulate and support the surgical team across a range of general, gynecologic, urologic, orthopedic, and podiatric procedures
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as colon resections, laparoscopic general surgery, hysterectomies, nephrectomies, prostatectomies, PCNLs, joint replacements, arthroscopies, and basic podiatric surgeries
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the perioperative team
• Maintain a sterile and safe operating room environment and follow established surgical safety protocols
• Complete accurate documentation in Epic OpTime
• Respond to scheduled weeknight, weekend, and holiday call assignments as required
• Provide occasional support at the Ottawa location when staffing needs arise
