Job Description

This full-time General Production Worker role supports specialty steel manufacturing operations in a heavy industrial environment. You will help produce high-quality stainless steel, nickel alloys, tool steel, and specialty metals used in critical applications across aerospace, power generation, oil and gas, and heavy industry. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work, are safety-focused, and want to build a long-term career in manufacturing. The role follows 12-hour swing shifts with multiple shift options, offers unlimited overtime opportunities, and may require weekend work to support production demands.

Responsibilities

• Support daily steel manufacturing and production operations to ensure consistent output and product quality.
• Load, unload, and transport steel products safely throughout the facility using appropriate material handling methods.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment after completing required training and certification.
• Assist with machine setup and production changeovers to support efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Operate manufacturing equipment under guidance and follow standard operating procedures to meet production targets.
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects and verify compliance with quality specifications and standards.
• Use measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Perform grinding, deburring, packaging, and finishing operations on steel products as required by production schedules.
• Accurately maintain production records, logs, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and quality teams to meet production goals and resolve issues.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout processes, and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with housekeeping standards.
• Perform other production-related duties and tasks as assigned to support overall plant operations.

Work Environment

This role operates in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility that produces specialty stainless and alloy steel products. The environment includes large machinery, overhead cranes, furnaces, rolling equipment, and various material handling systems. Employees work 12-hour swing shifts with multiple shift options, full-time schedules, and unlimited overtime opportunities; weekend work may be required to meet production demands. The setting involves exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment, and requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn at all times to ensure safety. The facility emphasizes clean, organized work areas and adherence to strict safety and housekeeping standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Canonsburg, PA.

The pay range for this position is $38480.00 - $50000.00/yr.
