About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years required License: Active Ohio or Compact RN License Certifications: - Active American Heart Association BLS - Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: - Competent with cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex) and knowledge of titration and application of these medications. - Competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms. - Possess critical thinking skills, able to recognize change in patient status and intervene. - Knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke, able to recognize change in patient status and intervene. - Strong communication skills. Description: Functioning within the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs and Unit Secretaries.
