Position Summary Lighthouse Therapy LLC is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic School-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work in-person within school settings in Nampa, Idaho . In this role, you will provide direct 1-on-1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and behavioral support to students in pre-K through 12th grade under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), facilitate classroom engagement, foster independence, and manage challenging behaviors in real time. Key Responsibilities Direct Student Support & Intervention Provide 1-on-1 ABA therapy to assigned student(s) during the school day, adhering strictly to individualized behavior plans created by the BCBA. Facilitate functional communication, social skill development, task completion, and coping mechanisms within academic and social settings (classroom, lunchroom, recess, assemblies). Implement reactive strategies for problem behaviors according to approved Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive demeanor. Promote student independence by systematically fading prompts as skills are acquired. Data Collection & Documentation Collect accurate, real-time data on target behaviors, replacement skills, and task completion using electronic data collection tools or specified paper protocols. Complete daily session notes, shift logs, and attendance tracking in compliance with state regulations, HIPAA/FERPA guidelines, and company standards. Assist the supervising BCBA in collecting baseline data for functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and quarterly progress updates. Partner effectively with general and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school administrators to maintain a cohesive environment. Support student integration in general education settings by helping adapt environmental variables and prompt structures. Maintain professional boundaries while communicating constructively with school personnel and multidisciplinary team members. Participate in periodic supervision meetings, team huddles, and professional development training led by Lighthouse Therapy LLC and supervising BCBAs. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) required. (Candidates currently in pursuit of certification or with equivalent behavior support experience may be considered for trainee pathways). Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience working with children, ideally in a school, clinical, or developmental setting implementing ABA principles. Background Check: Must clear a comprehensive Criminal History Background Check (Idaho Department of Health and Welfare / Idaho State Department of Education clearance). Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, run short distances, and lift or move up to 50 lbs to ensure student safety during crisis intervention or physical activities. Transportation: Reliable transportation to travel to assigned school site(s) in Nampa, ID. Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic school environment and handles unexpected routine changes with patience and flexibility. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for communicating with supervisors, educators, and school staff.
