Retail Sales Associate FT

Overview CHEF’STORE Sales Associate serves customers and supports store operations with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. The role may include responsibilities as Cashier, Stocker, and Customer Courtesy, and requires flexibility to work in different departments to meet customer and business needs. Responsibilities Front End: Ensure customers have an impeccable CHEF’SSTORE experience by developing relationships, utilizing the CHEF’SSTORE Way training, and modeling the company values. Perform sales and cash functions at the POS, including scanning merchandise, weighing items, looking up non-scannable products, and reconciling barcode data. Report discrepancies to the Front End Lead or Manager of Day (MOD). Cart-to-cart transfer at checkout with visual inspection for tampering; verify cart contents against purchases as receipt checker. Complete store opening and/or closing duties at the front end based on shift schedule. Sales Floor and Stocking: Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage. Assist customers in finding products and informing them about additional store services. Receive inventory shipments, stock shelves in a neat and orderly fashion, rotate products, and perform quality audits. Report low stock levels to management. Label merchandise properly, apply catch weight labels as needed, and affix PLU tags to produce items. Down-stock freight daily to replenish top stock, follow FIFO, and use reach trucks or pallet jacks as required. Utilize computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel) and any necessary proprietary software. Ensure products are accessible, visually appealing, and consistently available. Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management. Participate in opening and closing store duties and the inventory/cycle count process as needed. Customer Courtesy: Maintain a safe and clean environment by following safety policies. Notify management of safety issues and address them where possible. Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, and restrooms; assist with cleaning equipment as needed. Keep the parking lot and store entry area clean; gather and return carts from parking areas. Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management. Supervision N/A Relationships Internal: Interact with employees at all levels of responsibility. External: Interact with customers and other service and product providers. Work Environment Retail store setting open to the public with potential exposure to outside weather and normal store noise levels. Work may require standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, twisting, and manual dexterity. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 6–12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience required. Minimum one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service; willingness to assist other employees to get the job done. Provide fast, easy, efficient, and professional service to customers. Good common sense, basic math aptitude, and ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team. Flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends; basic computer skills and cash handling experience. Education High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required. Physical Qualifications Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting (various weights), pushing/pulling, climbing/balancing, stooping/squatting, bending, reaching above shoulder, twisting, grasping and manipulating objects, and manual dexterity as needed.
