Inside Sales Representative

Location: Elgin, IL

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 + monthly bonus potential

Overview:

Our client, a leading metals processor and distributor, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support customer accounts, quotations, order processing, and sales activities. This role works closely with customers, sales leadership, operations, and quality teams to ensure accurate quoting, timely order entry, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries and RFQs
• Prepare and process quotations based on customer requirements
• Communicate with customers to clarify specifications, pricing, and delivery requirements
• Review purchase orders and resolve discrepancies
• Enter and acknowledge customer orders in the ERP system
• Support customers using procurement and ordering portals
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Quality teams to meet customer expectations
• Investigate and resolve billing issues and customer claims
• Assist with non-conforming product issues and customer concerns
• Maintain accurate customer and order records
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
• Previous inside sales, customer service, account management, or sales support experience
• Experience in metals, manufacturing, industrial distribution, or related industries preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience working with ERP systems preferred
• Lean manufacturing knowledge is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Schedule:

• $55,000 – $65,000 base salary
• Monthly bonus opportunity
• Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
