Portfolio Associate

Position Summary Portfolio Associates provide exceptional service to clients and support Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/teams on a daily basis. As key members of the service team, they build trusted relationships through regular interactions with clients. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to assist clients with everyday needs, completing the Portfolio Associate curriculum and earning leadership nomination. Duties and Responsibilities Support FAs/PWAs/teams in cultivating and enhancing new and existing client relationships. Execute money movement transactions at client and/or FA/PWA/team request. Answer general non‑investment related questions about client accounts, including relaying stock positions and providing account balances (e.g., funds due and margin debit). Enter profile information or pre‑fill account documentation on client accounts, and handle all related clerical tasks. Educate or enroll clients in digital tools (e.g., MSOnline, eSign, eAuthorization). Onboard and maintain client accounts, collecting required documentation at the direction of the client and/or FA/PWA/team. Provide existing clients with details about account information (e.g., investment objectives, risk tolerance). Accept and enter unsolicited or solicited orders in a clerical capacity at direction of the FA/PWA/team. Support the FAs/PWAs/teams’ marketing strategy, including website maintenance. Assist FAs/PWAs/teams in executing their business plan and client service model. Remain current on all policies, procedures, and new platforms. Participate in firm initiatives, special projects, and other duties directed by local management. Serve as a peer/mentor to other support professionals in the market. Answer inbound phone calls and make outbound calls with updates on service requests, scheduling follow‑up calls with FAs/PWAs/teams as needed. Manage calendar, coordinate meetings or events, prepare agendas, and send calendar invites with Zoom credentials. Maintain travel itineraries, prepare expense reports, and manage the reimbursement process. Assist with general in‑office support functions such as copying, filing, and scanning documents. Prepare and submit expense reports for processing under the direction of the FA/PWA. Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills High School Diploma/Equivalency (College degree preferred). Active Series 7 (GS) and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA). 5+ years of work experience in a field relevant to the position. Successful completion of the pre‑requisite Portfolio Associate Training Curriculum, with leadership nomination. Knowledge of financial services products, including equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts. Detail‑oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and client service skills. Strong time‑management skills. Team player with the ability to collaborate with others. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Adaptable and able to multitask. Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated, and results‑driven. Reports To Business Service Officer Expected Base Pay Rates Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $17 and $43.27 per hour at the commencement of employment. Base pay if hired will be determined individually and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley‑sponsored benefit programs.
