Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Summary:
Provide specialized neonatal nursing care in a newly established and technologically advanced Level III NICU. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support critically ill and stable preterm and term infants, ensuring optimal outcomes and family support.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates, including stabilization and intervention for infants requiring vent support, CPAP, UVC placement, and surfactant administration.
• Perform advanced procedures such as newborn resuscitation, intubation, umbilical line placement, needle decompression, and chest tube insertion following established protocols.
• Monitor patient status utilizing GE 650 monitors and document findings accurately in Meditech and Centricity Perinatal systems.
• Support and educate families on breastfeeding, infant care, and procedures, demonstrating excellent communication skills and compassionate patient interaction.
• Maintain competency in equipment use, infection control, and adherence to safety standards and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals for patient stabilization and continuous care improvements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN licensure with current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Have at least 2 years of neonatal nursing experience, with proficiency in IV insertion for preterm and term infants.
• Possess strong assessment skills, independence, and the ability to recognize symptoms of declining neonatal health.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, breastfeeding support skills, and team collaboration capability.
• Be able to work 3 scheduled 12-hour shifts per week, including four weekend shifts every four weeks.
