Waterton Construction Group is a Texas hardscape contractor specializing in commercial developments, residential developments, and complex outdoor construction projects. Our reputation is built on quality craftsmanship, strong client relationships, and disciplined project execution.

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager-caliber construction professional who is ready to take on a hands-on leadership opportunity. This role is intentionally designed to begin with approximately 6-9 months working in the field as a Superintendent , learning Waterton's systems, people, projects, and approach to construction before transitioning into a full Project Manager role.

We're looking for someone with the experience, judgment, computer skills, and leadership ability to grow into full project management responsibility.

During the initial field phase, you'll work closely with our field teams to learn how Waterton operates and build a strong understanding of our projects before taking on full PM responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Spend approximately 6-9 months working in the field as a Superintendent while learning Waterton's systems, processes, and project standards
• Lead and coordinate field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
• Build strong working relationships with crews, subcontractors, clients, vendors, and company leadership
• Develop a detailed understanding of project schedules, production, labor, materials, and field execution
• Transition into managing projects from project launch through completion as a Project Manager
• Manage project schedules, budgets, labor, production, documentation, and cost control
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
• Review, estimate, negotiate, and process change orders
• Monitor project costs, billing projections, and overall financial performance
• Manage project information and documentation within CoConstruct
• Lead production and project meetings and communicate updates to company leadership
• Resolve field issues and make sound decisions to keep projects moving forward
• Support estimating and project buyout activities as appropriate
• Identify opportunities to improve project execution, communication, and profitability

• 5+ years of construction project management or comparable construction leadership experience
• Experience managing commercial, civil, sitework, hardscape, landscape construction, or other large outdoor construction projects
• Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar construction leadership role
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Experience with project buyouts or procurement is a plus
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work confidently with Excel, including understanding basic formulas and identifying when calculations or data do not appear correct
• Experience with construction management software such as CoConstruct or similar platforms
• Strong leadership and communication skills with field personnel and subcontractors
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Willingness to spend the initial 6-9 months primarily in the field
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between project sites
• Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required

The ideal candidate is someone who already has the foundation to become a successful Project Manager but understands the value of learning the field from the inside before taking full responsibility for projects.

You may be a current Project Manager looking for a new opportunity, an experienced Superintendent ready to step into project management, or a construction professional with strong field and project experience.

You are comfortable working with people, technology, schedules, budgets, and project information. You don't need to be an Excel expert, but you should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, understanding basic formulas, and recognizing when something doesn't look right.

Most importantly, you're willing to invest time upfront learning how Waterton operates so that when you transition into the PM role, you can lead the team and manage projects with confidence.
