Veterinary Technician - Dentistry

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Dental Veterinary Technician! Pay: LVT I $24.00 - $35.20 / hour Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on work experience and advancement through our Kahuna leveling program Are you a passionate technician looking to improve your skills in the veterinary field? As a Dentistry Veterinary Technician: You will perform oral examinations. You will perform dental charting. You will take dental radiographs with proper positioning and technique. You will set up and assist with dental procedures and surgeries. You will perform professional dental cleanings including subgingival scaling, root planning, and curettage. You will perform effective oral nerve blocks in preparation for advanced procedures as directed by veterinarian . You will be able to calculate basic medical math. You will understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response. You will administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. You will perform phlebotomy. You will have the ability to place peripheral intravenous catheters. You will perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
