Manager of Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Job Type: Permanent

Compensation
  • Minimum: $36.43/hr
  • Mid-Level (10 years of experience): $45.54/hr
  • Maximum (15+ years of experience): $51.00/hr
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to lead daily clinical and operational functions within a Labor & Delivery unit. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, overseeing staffing and workflow operations, maintaining compliance with organizational standards, and supporting positive clinical outcomes for mothers and newborns.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, Labor & Delivery expertise, and a passion for supporting nursing teams in a fast-paced women’s services environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations of the Labor & Delivery department
  • Manage staffing schedules and unit workflow
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Monitor nursing care practices for compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Promote operational efficiency and effective patient throughput
  • Hold staff accountable for quality care and clinical outcomes
Team Leadership & Staff Support
  • Guide and support nursing staff in achieving departmental goals
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment
  • Assist with staff development, mentoring, and performance management
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to support operational excellence
On-Call & Department Coverage
  • Participate in on-call coverage for:
    • Postpartum (PP)
    • Antepartum (AP)
    • Labor & Delivery (LD)
Patient Care & Quality Improvement
  • Promote evidence-based and patient-centered care practices
  • Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals and women’s services standards
  • Monitor unit performance metrics and patient outcomes
Required QualificationsEducation
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 1+ year of recent leadership experience in Labor & Delivery
  • Leadership experience must be within the last year
Licensure
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
