Payroll Specialist

Location: San Antonio, TX - Fully onsite About the Role This role is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, multi-state payroll compliance, employee payroll support, and payroll-related reporting and accounting activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and has hands-on experience with ADP and Excel. Key Responsibilities Process weekly, biweekly, and special payrolls for a multi-state workforce. Review payroll data, timekeeping records, and employee changes for accuracy. Validate payroll calculations and system-generated payroll outputs before submission. Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll changes. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements. Monitor and resolve payroll tax notices, agency correspondence, and related issues. Prepare and distribute prevailing wage reports and supporting documentation. Prepare payroll-related journal entries and information for Accounting. Partner with HR on compensation, benefits, disability payments, and employee changes. Assist with internal and external payroll audits. Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records. Support payroll projects, process improvements, and other team needs. Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience. Experience processing multi-state payroll. Working knowledge of state payroll taxes and regulations. Experience with ADP or a comparable payroll system. Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs. Experience with full-cycle payroll processing, including payroll validation and review. Experience with payroll tax notices and agency correspondence. Prevailing wage/payroll reporting experience. Experience supporting government contracting or similarly regulated environments. Experience with multiple state and local tax jurisdictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr Addison Group
