About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to provide strategic leadership and direction for all fundraising and philanthropic programs. This role is pivotal in leading the organization's efforts to prioritize philanthropy as a strategic imperative. The successful candidate will be responsible for activating and building the philanthropic program, with a focus on meeting ambitious fundraising goals. Key responsibilities include leading a team to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift relationships, as well as building the necessary systems and infrastructure to support these activities. The role also involves working closely with boards, executive leadership, and community leaders to foster a culture of philanthropy and ensure that the organization's mission is aligned with its philanthropic goals. The ideal candidate for the Vice President of Development position at the company is a strategic fundraiser with a proven track record in major gift fundraising from individuals, foundations, and corporations. They should be experienced in working with diverse, high-performing teams and be deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and the communities served by the organization. The role requires a leader who can inspire others, is adept at managing and developing staff, and is comfortable with both the building and management aspects of the position.
