Business Development Representative

TradeTrax

TradeTrax is a jobsite intelligence platform for production homebuilders. We capture real-time field data from builders and trades and turn it into the insights that drive cycle time compression, trade accountability, and operational performance. Our data is changing how the residential construction industry makes decisions. About the Role This is a focused, high-craft outbound role. Our market is a short list of major national homebuilders and their divisions, not thousands of companies. The people you’ll reach are division-level executives: VP of Construction, VP of Procurement, VP of Operations. They’re experienced operators who have no patience for nervous, generic, or poorly delivered pitches. This is not a volume role or a "numbers game." The right person here does their homework before reaching out, writes like a human, and listens more than they talk. They understand that earning genuine curiosity from a busy executive is the win and that the right next step looks different for every prospect. They also understand that timing is part of the craft: knowing when someone is newly in role, when a company is in transition, or when market conditions have shifted can matter as much as what you say. What You’ll Do Research target companies and their division leadership before outreach, enough to be relevant, not so much that you never send the email Monitor for trigger events: leadership changes, new roles, acquisitions, earnings signals, and use them to time and tailor your approach Build and execute thoughtful multi-channel outreach via HubSpot, LinkedIn, phone, and video messaging Identify the right people in a buying committee, not just the most senior title Write prospecting emails that sound like a person wrote them Guide early conversations toward the right next step for that prospect, not a predetermined sequence Use marketing content, case studies, thought leadership, and proof points to create value before asking for time Maintain clean, complete records in HubSpot; no offline shadow tracking in Excel Hand off to account executives with full context on the individual prospect, target account and where the conversation stands Feed intelligence back to marketing: what’s resonating, what objections are surfacing, what’s missing Use sequencing, analytics, and AI-assisted prospecting tools to work sharper, not just faster Identify and engage strategic targets beyond the builder universe, including investors, industry influencers, and potential channel or technology partners flagged by leadership Support podcast and media outreach: help surface, pitch, and prepare for speaking and guest opportunities that extend TradeTrax's reach Build relationships with identified partnership targets through the same disciplined, high-craft outreach applied to builder prospects What We’re Looking For 5+ years in an outbound BDR or SDR role in an enterprise B2B SaaS company with a long sales cycle Proven track record generating pipeline against VP-level and above buyers Deep fluency with HubSpot or a comparable CRM Confident user of LinkedIn Sales Navigator, video prospecting tools, and sequencing platforms Comfortable with AI-assisted prospecting tools and eager to adopt new ones Experience working within or alongside a marketing team Strong written communication — precise, human, and concise A calm, confident phone presence — unhurried and easy to listen to Genuine curiosity and strong listening instincts Nice to have Familiarity with residential homebuilding or construction operations Experience working a finite named-account universe rather than a large open territory You believe the quality of an outreach matters more than the quantity You’re energized by the challenge of opening doors in a small, high-stakes market — and patient enough to do it right You can read the room on a call: timing, tone, and what a prospect actually needs to hear next You see content and marketing as tools, not someone else’s department You stay calm and focused under pressure, on the phone, in a slow week, and everywhere in between You’re genuinely curious about the people and industries you call on This probably isn’t the right fit if You measure your effort primarily by call or email volume You prefer to operate outside the CRM and reconcile later Scripts are how you stay confident on the phone Note: This position will be based out of our Scottsdale, AZ site. Employees can choose to work from home on Monday & Friday and are in the office from Tuesday through Thursday.
