Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Internship Overview Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to help gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe or assist in surgical procedures, and manage medical care for patients. In addition to practicing clinical skills, externs will practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Most externship experiences at All Pets Medicine, Surgery & Rehabilitation Clinic range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for All Pets Medicine, Surgery, & Rehabilitation Clinic is $2,500. Responsibilities Gather patient histories. Perform physical examinations. Create treatment plans.
