Product Engineer

Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead design engineering activities from pre-program through launch. This position will focus on developing upper body structures to meet vehicle performance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 5 years of experience as a structures D&R Engineer
• Experience designing, developing, and releasing automotive sheet metal components
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Working knowledge of Catia V5/V6 and/or 3DX CAD
• Prior work experience with Ford body commodities or in the automotive industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Understanding of vehicle body structural performance requirements
• Experience with CAE correlation reviews and optimization strategies
• Knowledge of DMAIC and DFSS principles
• Experience with 8D, fishbone, and DOE problem-solving methodologies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead Purchasing, Finance, and Cost Estimating in supplier selection to achieve program targets
• Develop component designs that meet customer and manufacturing requirements
• Interface with engineers of surrounding components and systems
• Release 3-D CAD that meets system design requirements
• Support supplier and CAE testing of structure and closure designs
• Manage Final Engineering Sign-off and production vehicle launch
