Lilac investors include BMW, SK, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Mercuria, Lower Carbon Capital, and MIT's The Engine.Lilac is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team of technicians to commission and operate chemical process equipment for production of ceramic ion exchange beads.This is a full-time position based in Fernley, NV. Lilac's Fernley operation is a growing facility, and this role includes an opportunity for career growth and advancement. This role works full-time in a manufacturing environment. Individuals must be capable of lifting 50 pounds, work at heights on occasion, and detect physical hazards and the presence of gas leaks and similar safety risks.What You'll DoProvide hands-on, tactical leadership to a team of Process Technicians in the commissioning, initial startup, and transition to full operation of a new ion exchange bead manufacturing unit.Consistently provide technicians with high quality coaching, feedback, and recognition.Deliver continuous improvement by monitoring team capabilities, work processes, and equipment performance to identify opportunities and anticipate emerging issues.Coordinate with planners to develop and execute the daily production plan, determine and communicate shift priorities, and perform short-term resource planning.Oversee the Safe Work Permitting process.Develop standard operating procedures and workflows.Train technicians on process and equipment operation; safe work practices and behaviors; emerging issue recognition and troubleshooting; and policies and procedures.Participate in structured process improvement, risk management and problem-solving processes such as RCAs, MOCs, and PHAs.Required QualificationsA.A.S. in Process Technology or similar technical field with at least 5 years of relevant experience or 8+ years of experience in manufacturing in chemical, petroleum, materials, or similar industryMinimum of 6 months of leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment and a strong desire to learn, grow, and improveEngaging leadership skills and a drive to build an outstanding team and to treat others with integrity, respect, and fairnessOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsMust be capable of passing a respirator fit test and occasionally wearing a respirator during operationsWilling and able to lead a team on rotating shifts in a manufacturing environmentExcited to work on a small, fast-paced startup teamCompensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary of $95,000 - $122,000Discretionary bonusStock optionsHealth, dental, and vision insuranceShort-term and long-term disability insurance401k with pre- and post-tax investing optionsFlexible spendings account/Health savings accountGroup and term lifeFlexible time offPaid holidaysPaid sick leaveEight weeks of paid parental leaveEmployee assistance programMonthly phone stipendDaily catered lunch for on-site employeesThe salary range listed reflects our good-faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting.
