Finance Data Product Analyst — FP&A

Intuitive Surgical

Finance Data Product Analyst supporting FP&A operations at Intuitive Surgical in Durham, NC. The role owns requirements gathering, technical specification development, and engineering handoff across general ledger, revenue, capital expenditure, and headcount portfolios while coordinating between onsite and offshore teams.

Responsibilities

Gather, clarify, document, and prioritize FP&A business requirements from finance stakeholders
Translate business requirements into structured technical specifications and data model requirements
Own requirements-to-engineering handoff process and reduce rework cycles through validation
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing across delivered models
Debug and trace data through EDW models to identify discrepancies and root causes

Requirements

4+ years in BI analysis, data product analysis, or finance analytics support
Strong FP&A knowledge: general ledger, revenue recognition, CapEx, headcount reporting
SQL proficiency for data investigation and validation across EDW layers
Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs to technical specifications
Familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms from analyst perspective
Tableau or equivalent BI tool experience for report validation
Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, mathematics, information systems, or business
