Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in an inpatient isolation unit for patients undergoing complex treatments such as cell therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and transplants. The role involves delivering intermediate-level care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood product transfusions according to established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patients receiving cell therapy and transplant procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in the electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient treatments and ensure safety.
• Follow infection control protocols, including managing patients in isolation units.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations, providing quality bedside care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an oncology or transplant setting.
• Be certified in AHA BLS; AHA ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records, preferably Cerner.
• Have experience caring for immunocompromised patients in an inpatient setting.
• Able to work varied shifts, including 7pm-7am schedules.
