Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all 2nd shift maintenance technician activities and ensuring that equipment operates safely and at optimal performance. This is a hands-on role and includes coordinating and as well as performing operational maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing necessary repairs. The Maintenance Supervisor will have responsibilities in the area of employee development and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and develops direct-report maintenance technicians and staff.
• Supports technicians with troubleshooting and repair of all equipment.
• Performs repairs and troubleshooting of equipment and facility issues as needed.
• Trains technicians on performing preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Assists with training technicians on safety procedures in collaboration with Safety department.
• Covers on-call duties as needed for technicians.
• Works weekends as needed to complete projects, tasks, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinates the installation of new equipment, training on new equipment, and developing preventive maintenance procedures in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintains a high level of communication with the Maintenance Manager to ensure proper tools, PPE, and safety equipment are available on-site for technicians.
• Communicates regularly with the Maintenance Manager regarding technician performance levels.
• Communicates additional preventive maintenance needs and required spare parts to mitigate downtime. Assists with parts management and maintenance planning.
• Attends advanced equipment training courses to maintain a high level of equipment knowledge.
• Assists with the creation of training manuals for technicians.
• Assists with the creation of safety documentation for equipment and facilities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Understanding of OSHA, LOTO procedures
• Understanding of basic food safety concepts.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with processing, packaging, or refrigeration systems preferred.
• Must have the ability to navigate machine parts manuals.
• Must be capable of using site asset management software.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be organized and have good communication skills, verbal and written, in English.
• Spanish language ability is preferred but not required

Education

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate science, engineering, technical or related field preferred.
