Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of six months to three years of nursing experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Nursing experience with telemetry patients Experience with cardiac medications Ability to read rhythm strips Experience in managing post-stroke patients Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury. The RN alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice. The role includes professional development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and applicable policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. The RN serves as the primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and administers medications safely. The RN shares in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies. The RN actively participates in and supports improvement initiatives. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN follows all organizational values and performs other duties as assigned.
