• Experience with neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric patient care

Description:

The role involves working in an ED holding unit with a patient ratio of 5:1. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a specialty environment. First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the experience requirements. Every other weekend availability is required. Certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI are mandatory. Candidates must float to the emergency department if needed. Experience with Cerner charting is required. The position involves interacting with interdisciplinary support teams. Responsibilities include managing patients with conditions such as chronic anemia, CHF, and COPD exacerbations. Skills in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients are preferred. Knowledge of non-invasive airway management and tracheostomy care is a plus.
