The position involves working with a diverse patient population and requires the ability to manage complex medical situations effectively. Unit Specifics Beds: 42 beds total (East 20, West 22, Neuro/Med: 22, CTICU: 6, Surg/Trauma: 14) Common Patient Diagnoses: Neuro/Med: Strokes, Sepsis, Altered Mental Status, Neuro Intervention (TCAR), Respiratory Failure, Congestive Heart Failure, Post-Stemi CTICU: Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiogenic Shock, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery Surg/Trauma: Trauma Care, Major Post-Operative Surgical Cases Specialty Equipment Used: Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Ventriculostomy, Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Monitoring, Targeted Temperature Management (Artic Sun) Floating Requirements: Nurses may be required to float to all units except Behavioral Health and Emergency Room (unless holding patients). Shift Information Shifts are from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU settings (SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, Neuro ICU). Preferred 4-5 years of ICU experience. Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Prismaflex is essential. Heart experience is highly preferred. Current AHA certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required. EMR experience is required, with familiarity in EPIC strongly preferred. Active New York nursing license and all other active RN licenses must be verified. Skills checklist must match the specialty.
