This entry-level position is perfect for those who thrive in diverse environments and are seeking a dynamic career path without the requirement of a college degree.Are You:Passionate about working outdoors and independently?A reliable and hardworking individual with a strong sense of responsibility?Keen on maintaining safety and have excellent observational skills?Looking for a job that offers a new scene and challenges every day?Interested in a career opportunity that values your growth and development without the need for college education?Join AWP Safety and be part of a fast-paced, safety-first culture that prioritizes your growth and development.Job DescriptionRole Description: As a Traffic Control Flagger/Barricade Setter, you will play a crucial role in:Establishing and maintaining safe work zones using the proper equipment.Collaborating with team members to ensure the safety of all.Managing traffic flow effectively with stop/slow paddles.Delivering exceptional service and protection to our clients.Benefiting from continuous training and support to advance from an entry-level position to long-term career opportunities.Set-up barricades/cones and related signage to provide a safe flagging work environment for our partners in the work zone.Driving to and from designated work zones with all equipment necessary to provide a safe work zone.Document and communicate with dispatch, operations and customers with regards to equipment utilized and proper location of set-up.Maintain job sites and equipment to ensure the highest quality set-ups and also maintain The AWP Safety Way.Be able to read and understand specific plans and instructions in order to exceed customer's expectation.Be able to make field adjustments and corrections to make the project safe for the customer, municipality, motoring public and pedestrians going through the work zone.Perform pre and post-trip vehicle/equipment inspections.Possess and wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipment. PPE Equipment includes: Steel/Composite Toed Boots, Type 3 Reflective Vest, Hard Hat, Eye Protection, Gloves and any other necessary equipment required. (Some PPE provided).QualificationsValid driver's license required.Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a dayTwo Years of outdoor labor experienceWillingness to work in various weather conditions and traffic settings.Experience driving.Must pass pre-employment screenings, including a drug test.Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly and the ability to move/travel long distances within work zones.Possesses strong problem solving and communication skills to understand specific needs in the work zone.Ability to read and understand instructions, plans and maps of work zone locations.Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.Excellent attendance and dependable transportation required.High School diploma or equivalent work experience.Valid driver's license required.ATSSA Flagger Certification required.No experience necessary.
