Experienced Manual / Job Shop Machinist

An established and growing manufacturer of aircraft ground support equipment currently has an opening for an experienced Manual Machinist. This is a direct hire, full-time position located in Monroe, North Carolina.

The candidate will be responsible for machining precision parts using manual machine tools. Must be able to interpret technical drawings and documents and select proper cutting tools. Must be able to work on projects individually or as a team. Must be familiar with the operation of Bridgeport milling machines, horizontal milling machines, vertical milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders and inspection equipment. CNC setup and operation experience is not required but would be an advantage. The candidate must be able to work efficiently to produce high quality parts to meet customer requirements.

Candidate MUST:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
• Pass background and drug screening
• Have at least 5 years experience as a machinist.
• Have the ability to read and understand blueprints
• Be able to use standard measuring tools and equipment
• Be knowledgeable with GD&T and technical documents
• Be able to select and properly utilize cutting tools
• Be able to design and make job specific tools, jigs and fixtures
• Be able to work on more than one project at a time
• Be self-motivated, dependable and conscientious
• Be willing to work overtime as needed
• Provide own standard basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Be able to work as a team member

Working hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. (frequent weekend overtime opportunities offered)
