Surprise Resource Center Team Member

The City of Surprise Community & Resource Center is seeking its next dynamic team member to join our team assisting residents of Surprise, El Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Waddell, and Wittmann. This position is grant funded and will last through December 30, 2026, with possible extension through June 2027. This part-time temporary position will work approximately 28 hours per week. Also, this position will require working until 7 p.m. two days per week.

Incumbent provides customer service to the public by greeting visitors, answering questions, making referrals for the resource center programs and services, and providing support for the Community Action Program. Basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures are required at this level. Responsibilities include performing more complex data entry, compiling reports, creating basic correspondence, ordering office supplies and equipment, conducting research, and performing basic quantitative quality assurance reviews.

Education and/or experience: High school diploma or GED, and six months of administrative and/or customer service experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed on job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must provide proof of having a Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) from the Arizona Department of Public Safety within 7 days of hire, or provide proof of having applied for the Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) within 7 days of hire. The cost of obtaining an FCC will be provided by the Human Services & Community Vitality department.

Selection process: Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.

Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Criminal Background Screening, Drug Screen, Education & Experience Verification, E-Verify, Fingerprinting.
