Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Provide direct nursing care to students experiencing illness, injury, or chronic medical conditions within the school setting.
\n
• Conduct health assessments, triage, and student evaluations.
\n
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
\n
• Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), emergency care plans, and health documentation.
\n
• Support students with chronic health conditions including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, severe allergies, and other medical needs.
\n
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, special education teams, and healthcare providers to ensure student success.
\n
• Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings when appropriate.
\n
• Monitor immunization compliance and maintain accurate student health records.
\n
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
\n
• Promote student wellness through health education, prevention, and advocacy.
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
\n
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
\n
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
\n
• Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
\n

Preferred Experience

\n

\n
• School nursing experience preferred but not required.
\n
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
\n
• Medical-surgical, hematology, oncology, community health, or public health experience is a plus.
\n
• Experience supporting students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and chronic health conditions preferred.
\n
