Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring NC or compact RN licensure and 2+ years of ICU experience.

Job Details

• ICU setting within a short-term acute care, Level III Trauma teaching hospital,
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00),
• 13-week assignment length,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• Floating required within hospital or affiliated campuses based on staffing needs,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Epic EMR used,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required (pending license not accepted),
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Must pass Advanced EKG exam prior to start, no exceptions,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Trauma Level II experience preferred,
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care,
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tube assistance,
• Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade,
• Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients including those with multisystem organ dysfunction,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible for this position,
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white,
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with one major holiday request allowed,
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler,
• Night shift travelers may extend up to two times (three contracts total) before requiring a 6-month break,
• First-time travelers considered at manager's discretion based on experience,
• Travel experience required,
• Pre-start modules required, estimated at 4-10 hours of non-billable time
