Project CARE Support Specialist

Description Summary Under the direction of the Project Care and Adult EducationLiaison, the Specialist is responsible for supporting Project CAREStudents as they enter the program. The Specialist will serve asthe primary recruiter for new students, coordinating and developingstudent recruitment initiatives and events. The Specialist willalso work with the adult education department to recruit studentsfrom Adult Ed Classes into the program. This role is alsoresponsible for expanding Project CARE within the collegedistrict. Duties & Responsibilities Assist prospective and current student and with Project CAREintake. Answer phone calls and take messages in the Project CARE officein addition to responding to emails. Perform data entry this includes but limited to sorting,maintaining, and filing student records in database. Support program marketing efforts; this includes but notlimited to visiting Adult Education classes to promote theprogram. Assist with test sign-up, assessment, intake &orientation. Facilitate student relationships with their tutors byadvocating on the students’ behalf when necessary. Conduct collegetours. Represent Project CARE programs at college events, communityevents, and other networking opportunities such as career fairs,this will require working off-site on occasion. Attend all required meetings and training sessions. Complete professional development activities as assigned. Preform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications An Associate’s degree. Experience working with postsecondarystudents or adult learners. Bilingual in Spanish and English.Familiarity with the needs of students in Adult Education programs.Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values ofcompassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance andtruth. Preferred Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration (or arelated subject). Experience working with Adult Ed students.Familiarity with Customer Relations, Literacy Tutoring, andDatabase Management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
