Production Operator (Polyester)

Position Responsibilities General Must possess a good working knowledge of plant equipment in the assigned operating unitMust possess a good understanding of the operation and processes in the assigned operating unitMust understand and follow all safety and operating proceduresMaintain daily logs and records as instructedResponsible for maintaining the boiler log and managing the boiler operator schedule (optional through the black seal boiler certification)Must understand basic chemistry for products made in assigned production areaMaintain plant cleanliness to COIMs housekeeping standardsRecognizes and documents "abnormal" operating conditions with proper response including immediate notification of supervisionPerform physical cycle counts Raw Materials Reading batch and operating instructions associated with the preparation of raw materialUnload bulk raw materials and intermediates from trucks to storage or packagesProper operation of transfer controls, PLC systems, pneumatic, and electrical equipment for the offloading of raw materialsSampling of incoming raw materialsPreparation of re-work and partials containers in ovens for upcoming batches Charge Reactors Possess good working knowledge of batch-calc including log page and recipe pages entries for tracking of raw material and packing proceduresLoad raw material in the reactors through super-sacks, totes or drums materialUsing the proper checklist to track raw material chargingLoading Re-work and partials package in the reactors and dissolvers Finished Goods Reading batch and operating instructions associated with the preparation of the packaging of finished products.Loading of bulk trucks and railcarsRetaining sample for package or bulk loadingPerform moisture analysis on retainsProper packaging and storage of finished goods for customer shipmentsPerforms other duties as assigned.
